Last week, the Barber National Institute had the distinct honor of welcoming Erie Mayor Daria Devlin and Erie County Executive Christina Vogel. The excitement among our students was evident as they eagerly greeted these esteemed guests. Special Education Teacher Julie Moore led the classrooms in song, creating a joyful atmosphere. One of our talented students, Christina, proudly presented her artwork to the Mayor and County Executive, adding a heartfelt, personal touch to the occasion. 

These moments underscore the importance of strong relationships with elected officials, community partners, and collaborators in advancing our mission. The presence of Mayor Devlin and County Executive Vogel not only acknowledged the meaningful work taking place at the Barber National Institute and the Elizabeth Lee Black School but also highlighted our shared commitment to making a lasting difference in our region.
